THE TAKEAWAY

Separate a product announcement from a feature available in your account, then test a specific workflow before expanding it.

Google: read the revised DSA timeline

Google’s 15 April announcement about moving Dynamic Search Ads to AI Max was updated on 11 June. The update moves the start of the DSA sunset and automatic upgrade to February 2027. It says the ACA and campaign-level broad match upgrades still start in September 2026. The revised notice matters more than the older September wording elsewhere on the page.

Our practical recommendation: inventory the affected campaigns, record current settings and check the notices in your account. Review landing-page eligibility, exclusions and measurement before choosing a transition plan. Keep a dated change log so a later performance review can distinguish a campaign change from a change in demand.

Google: review what AI Max can change

Google describes AI Max as combining search term matching, text customisation and final URL expansion. These features affect how a campaign finds demand and connects it with ad copy and a landing page. Their usefulness should be assessed against your actual offer and conversion signals.

Before testing, decide which pages accurately represent the service and which customer actions matter. Inspect the search terms, message and destination together. Our view is that automation needs a clear review question: is it finding relevant opportunities the business can serve, at an acceptable cost? A vendor’s aggregate uplift is not a forecast for your account.

Meta: creative tools are expanding; some assistant features are in testing

In its 6 October Advertising Week announcement, Meta said Ads Creative Studio was reaching more advertisers. It also described tests of assistant capabilities for campaign work and scheduled tasks. The announcement distinguishes these tests from broadly available static-to-video generation in Advantage+ creative and an eligible-advertiser beta for catalog product videos.

Check your own account before planning a production workflow around an announced capability. Our suggested first use is a reviewed variation of approved creative, with the offer and claims held consistent. Record what changed and inspect the generated details. A feature being announced does not establish that every advertiser can use it today.

A useful way to assess the next update

Ask four questions: What work does this change? Is it available to this account? What human decision remains? How will we know whether it helped? Those questions turn a stream of product news into a manageable list of operational decisions.

This is a dated editorial review, checked on 20 October 2026. Platform rollouts and timelines can change. Recheck the linked official notices before altering a live campaign, and assess any test using your own conversion quality and business constraints. Future updates belong in a fresh dated post when there is a meaningful change to explain.
